NHTSA Campaign Number: 16T006000
Manufacturer: PIRELLI TIRE LLC
Manufactured Begin Date: April 1st, 2015
Manufactured End Date: April 7th, 2015
Date of Owner Notification: June 14th, 2016

Defect Summary:
Pirelli Tire LLC (Pirelli) is recalling certain P Zero Trofeo tires, size 225/50RR15 91Y, manufactured from April 1, 2015, through April 7, 2015. The affected tires may not be marked with a date code. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

Consequence Summary:
A missing date code could render the tire difficult to identify in the event of a safety-related issue, possibly causing them not to be removed from service. This will increase the risk of crash.

Corrective Summary:
Pirelli will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires missing the date code, free of charge. The recall began on June 14, 2016. Owners may contact Pirelli customer service at 1-800-747-3554.

Recall Notes:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
