Date of Owner Notification: March 5th, 2013

Defect Summary:
Takata has determined that the inflators in certain frontal passenger-side air bag inflators it manufactured and supplied to various vehicle manufacturers may produce excessive internal pressure causing the inflators to rupture upon deployment of the air bag.

Consequence Summary:
In the event of a crash resulting in a deployment of the passenger's air bag, the inflator could rupture, with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the passenger seat occupant or other occupants.

Corrective Summary:
Owners of all vehicles on which a defective air bag may have been installed either as original equipment, or as a replacement, will be notified by their respective vehicle manufacturers.
