Monrovia, CA -- January 5, 2005 -- Trader Joe's Company of Monrovia, California is recalling Trader Joe's Shortbread Tea Cookies with Cranberries, SKU # (product number) 071767, because the box may contain cookies with pecans that are not declared on the label. The SKU # can be found at the bottom of the side panel of the box. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to nuts run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Trader Joe's Shortbread Tea Cookies with Cranberries were potentially sold from Trader Joe's retail stores in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia & Washington.

This recall is a result of a discovery of tea cookies with pecans in one of the boxes of tea cookies with cranberries. This product code was removed from sale in all Trader Joe's stores. Warehouse inventory is being held off sale. Trader Joe's Company will not accept product from the manufacturer until the issue has been resolved.
