Sedona Labs Issues A Voluntary Recall For iFlora Kids Multi-Probiotic And iFlora 4-Kids Powder Dietary Supplements Due To Possible Health Risk

- July 9, 2012 - Sedona Labs today announced that its supplier of Galactooligosaccharide (GOS) has recalled this ingredient due to a possible Salmonella contamination. As a result, we are now voluntarily recalling certain lots of our iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® and iFlora™ 4-Kids Powder distributed between 3/16/2011 and 5/3/2012. The following lots with their corresponding UPC codes are included in the recall:|

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Customers possessing these products should immediately discontinue their use. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® or iFlora™ 4-Kids Powder.
No other Sedona Labs products are involved or impacted.
iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® has been sold throughout the US to health food stores and internet retailers. iFlora™ 4-Kids Powder has been sold via health care professionals.
Any consumers who wish to return iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® or iFlora™ 4-Kids Powder may return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions may be directed to the company at 1-888-816-8804, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM PST.
