I apologize for the length. Here goes, In 2020 I ordered/purchased new appliances. The stove and dishwasher came but nor the refrigerator, i t finally arrived in June of 2021. In June of 2023 after 2 years and twenty days of use it died. I complained a lot because I lost $400. of frozen and other foods. There was no offer of full replacement so I agreed to and was given a cheaper model free. I was told at delivery that if there were any problem call them and they would get it fixed that this has a two year warranty. So now, the ice maker isn't working correctly and I called the store to schedule a repair and was told they do not service my area. Wait - What? Then would both delivery men tell me to call and the lady that answers the store phone tell me the exact opposite?

I am so mad that we can not buy any thing any more and not have a recall. I will not buy any more Kitchen Aid products. So far I have had a kitchen stove (frigidare) that turns on by it self. A washer machine (Maytag) that turns on buy it self. Keep making this crap in China. Cheap labor equal cheap crap.

my free stand double oven has done this 3 times, can't get Whirlpool on the phone, this is very dangerous, it is only 4 years old, they make crap just replaced a 7 year old water heater--never will buy any of their products again

Why isn't Whirlpool being held accountable for manufacturing defective products?

We have a Whirlpool Gold wall mounted double oven, purchased extended warranty for two years. Third year after not renewing warranty, computer panel blew out, paid $400 for new panel. Then interior glass panel on door cracked.

Last incident, baking at 400 degrees, oven locked, could see upper burner light up, panel would not let me turn oven off. I could see some smoke inside and fan was on. Fire department suggested I turn off breaker. I called Whirlpool they could not tell me why the oven did this but wanted to schedule me a service call. I declined.

We just experienced the same situation a couple of days ago. My wife was trying to cook something and the oven went in to cleaning mode and locked the door. The oven started spewing smoke though out the house. Scary!!!

rockport96 The outer glass and frame has fallen out twice since our purchase 2008 for no apparent reason--model KERI201PB4---and shatters into a thousand pieces. No one acknowledges there is a problem

Serial Number XM2103679

We also had the issue of the oven switching to clean mode when it was set to bake. I had set the oven to 325 and the timer to 1:20. After about 1 hour, the smoke alarms went off and the whole house was filled with smoke. My wife looked in the oven and the broil element was on. Based on an earlier comment from Sept 2013, this seems like it is not an isolated event. I would appreciate response from Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool wall oven in 2005 and had no problems until this past year. I'm experiencing the same problems as many who have reported here. When baking it kicks on the cleaning mode without my knowledge and burns my food. The door locks and i have no alternative but to kick the electric breaker so it will stop heating and cool down. The company offered no remedy except to have me call a service man and pay the expense. Needless to say, Whirlpool and any other appliance connected to them are no longer for me. THIS OVEN SHOULD BE RECALLED!

I have had my whirlpool oven/microwave combo for 11 years now (installed when built the house). Have had to have several expensive repairs. One night the oven locked, the top and bottom elements heated to 500 degrees. Couldn not get oven to shut off. Had to turn off breaker. The next two incidents... both occurred during cleaning mode. Blows out the panel which is generally around $350 to repair. Now the glass inside broke in half (and was not hit by something)

Tonight while baking apple crisp the oven went inot lock and teh broiler turned on, it would not unlock when the cancel button was pushed. We turned off the bracker and cooled the oven down. We turned the breaker on and reset the time and made sure everything was off. It turned itself on to broil and locked itself. We have it turned off from the breaker. Now what do I do?

I purchase a KitchenAid Microwave in 2010 and it cost close to $2000.00 dollars on sale. I went out and when I had Sears repair check it out they said the fuse was blown but they would have to replace everything to fix it at the cost of almost $700.00 dollars. When I called Kitchen aid they said they could not do anything because the warranty is only one year. what a joke I have an microwave I bought twenty years ago that still work for only $60.00 dollars I fill that KicthenAid should stand behind their products longer than a year because the cost so much.
So now I am stuck with a high end kitchen and have to spend $3000.00 to get another high end microwave thanks KicthenAid It will not be your company I purchase it from you lost a customer.

I bought Whirlpool GFG46IVS and it has burned all my baking goods for Christmas. The stove has been repaired two times since I had it,2009. It has not cooked a good cake in all those years. The temperture goes to 500 when set on 350. I was told by the tech that it needed to go that high so it could come down to 350. Does he think I am crazy? I will not buy another Whirlpool and now that I know that they make Kitchenaid too, I will not buy that brand either.

I JUST GOT HOME AND I WAS CHECKING MY E-MAILS AND OUR WHIRLPOOL RANGE STARTED BEEPING SO I ASKED MY HUSBAND IF HE WAS PREHEATING IT TO COOK SOMETHING AND HE SAID NO WHEN HE CAME TO CHECK IT THE LIGHT WAS ON AND LOCK WAS ON IT BUT THE DOOR WAS NOT LOCKED SHUT I CALLED RENT A CENTER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT AND THEY SAID JUST TO UNPLUG AND PLUG IT BACK IN NOW I AM SCARED THAT IT MIGHT START COOKING AND SET OUR HOUSE ON FIRE WHEN WE ARE SLEEPING OR GONE. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. NOW WE CANT COOK IN THE OVEN AT ALL BECAUSE THE DOOR WANT CLOSE BECAUSE THE LOCK IN ON AND WE CANT GET IT OFF.

We too have the double oven and have had the thing go into self cleaning mode and cremated our chicken. Another time, the broiler unit suddenly came on while in the bake cycle. It is very dangerous and costly to repair. I had to turn off the electricity at the breaker and both times it fried the thermal fuses and was costly to repair. I removed the broiler element and hopefully that will solve the problem. The last whirlpool I will buy.

Has anyone had a problem with a double oven bottom oven door glass on the inside shattering? Model KERS505XSS

I have a gas oven, model GW395LEPSO1. On several occasions, the temperature was set for 350 degrees, then jumped up to self cleaning temperature and burned all the food. So i had thermostat replaced. All worked well for a while. Then, when put it on self-clean mode, it started cleaning and then burned out some expensive internal fuse inside it. Explain to me why the fuse would burn out in self-clean mode? Why have self-clean mode if this is going to happen. And I am NOT the only one this has happened to. Is there a recall for this? If so, i want in.

I too, am having apparant computer problems with our high-end Whirlpool slide in range, mdl GFE461LVT0. It turns the broiler in middle of oven-bake mode and burns up food. if not being attended this could burn down our house.

I have a KitchenAid KDRP407HSS4 that goes into clean mode when cooking. The only way to turn it off is to flip the multi-breaker switch. It's very scary when it happens and results in the oven not working and a repair bill for a new thermostat. This is a high end range and I am so mad I could spit.

I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN, THE STOVE HAS TURNED ON TO A HIGH TEMP AND UNABLE TO TURN IT OFF A NUMBER OF TIMES AND I HAD TO GO TO THE CIRCUIT BREAKER TO SHUT IT DOWN, OTHER CHOICE WAS TO PULL THE STOVE OUT AND UNPLUG IT. NOW THE CONTROL PANEL DOES NOT WORK FOR THE OVEN ON BAKE, ONLY WORK ON BROIL AND WARM.

ALSO NOTICED THAT THIS IS MORE COMMON FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THIS APPLIANCE AND THERE IS NO RECALL, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS SUCH A FIRE HAZARD.

I have a Kitchenaid, gas, free-standing oven that tends to over heat when I use the oven and stovetop together causing the circuitry to malfunction, turning the oven off. I don't like this model. Different things have gone wrong with it throughout it's use at my house and the parts and labor are extremely expensive. The total costs of replacing parts is way more than the oven cost from the store!
