2 motherboards later, our Bosch decided to turn itself on and fill, without the door being fully latched. We experienced flooding throughout 3 floors of our home. Technician tested the valve, thinking it was faulty; it was not.

It appears that the control module in many of the Bosch dishwashers are faulty, if you look at the internet the issues with the units locking into the 199 minute mode on all cycles and then getting to the last 1 minute and failing to bring the water to temperature to begin the drying cycle is also a major concern. Lets begin by labeling this the 199-1 issue and find out how many control panels are affected, it's a $300 to $500 repair and may lead to the issue that is at the forefront of the recall.

We have had our Bosch dishwasher for about 7-8 years now. Last night during the dishwasher's cycle, we smelled this horrible electrical fire, hot wire smell. There was no smoke and the dishwasher kept running. I ran downstairs to our control panel in the basement and shut off the electrical current to the dishwasher. The smell lessened somewhat after about 30 min. but I continued to hover over the dishwasher worrying that the fire, wherever it was, was out. Anyway, I called the Bosch 1-800 line and found out that we do have a unit that was recalled back in 2009, though I don't remember getting anything in the mail. Just very thankful we haven't had a kitchen fire or worse and tomorrow we hope to have the appliance repair man out to pull the dishwasher apart and find out if, indeed, the recalled part is the issue.
