Problem/Hazard
The power cord can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Injuries/Incidents
BSH Home Appliances has received 10 reports of the electrical cord overheating, including five reports of fire resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported. 

Description

This recall involves power cords supplied with certain Bosch, Gaggenau, Kenmore Elite and Thermador brand dishwashers that were manufactured from January 2008 through December 2013. Model and serial numbers are located on the top side of the dishwashers' inner door panels. The following brands, models and serial numbers are being recalled:

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the dishwasher and contact BSH Home Appliances for a free inspection and repair.

My Kenmore Elite Trio fridge almost burned the hose down, and my Kenmore Elite Dishwasher melted plastic handle on flatware as the unit's front panel indicated washing, but instead was super heating. Also have a Kenmore Elite gas range. Replaced the fridge already, and am replacing both the dishwasher and stove...good-bye Kenmore.

My Kenmore elite dishwasher soap dispenser has melted and I hope no other electric problems exist. It has also stopped washing the dishes. Food residue remains after the complete cycle.

I also had the outlet burned where my Kenmore Elite dishwasher is plugged in. Had to have replaced. Is there a recall on the dishwashers?

A few months ago I noticed that under the kitchen sink where my dishwasher was plugged in the wall plug for the dishwasher was black and burned. I had the wall plug replaced, but when I heard about the power cord causing fires I called number for the recall for the dishwasher powercords.They say I am not covered. Do I have to let my house catch on fire for them to fix this??? Sears, you may never see my business again.
